I was introduced to Wu Style Taijiquan as a student at the Otago University School of Physical Education in 1976. From 1979-1990 I studied the 24 posture government form and five different versions of Yang Style Taijiquan in New Zealand and Canada.

In 1990 I met Grand Masters Ma YueLiang and Wu YingHua and became of a student of their (adopted) daughter Shi MeiLin shortly afterwards. In 1994 and 1996 I travelled to China to study with the late Master Ma and his family.
I am a graduate of Otago University with a Diploma in Physical Education and a BA in Chinese, and was an Asia 2000 scholarship recipient in 1997.
Since 2002 I have lived in China studying with the Wu "family."
In 2003 I won gold medals for Form and Sword at the Zhejiang International Traditional WuShu Championships in WenZhou, China.
I am a registered school teacher and am registered as a Taijiquan teacher with the NZ National T'ai Chi Chuan Assn and the NZ Chinese Martial Arts-International WuShu Council.
